Primary Colors

Along with our rainbow unit, we have been talking about primary colors. It has been fun mixing colors this week to explain how the primary colors are used to make all of the other colors.
On Monday, we used red, blue, and yellow ice cubes to help explain how it worked. The preschoolers were able to pick two ice cubes to put together in a Ziploc bag. Then they rubbed them with their warm hands and watched them melt and mix together to make a new color. It was so fun to watch as they realized what was happening.

We learned a new song, too.

The primary colors are 1,2,3,
Red, Yellow and Blue.
Why they are special is plain to see,
They make all the colors for you!
