We were all super excited when the seed began to sprout. Of course, they all sprouted at different times, but within a couple of days, everybody's plant was growing. It was so fun to see them get so excited when what we've been learning about actually worked.
They got bigger and bigger until we finally sent the flowers home.
They'll continue to grow into a flower, but only if they are taken care of.

Planting Flowers
We planted flowers after we talked about what plants needed to grow. We planted Zinnia seeds in plastic cups. We used fresh soil to plant in, watered the flowers everyday, and kept them in the sun.
We had a few mishaps. One of the preschoolers dumped a few out. He said that he wanted them in the flower garden (behind them) so they could grow. So, I couldn't be too upset. He wasn't doing anything maliciously. Then, the bunny jumped up on the ledge and knocked a few over. Luckily, these problems happened the day the seeds were planted and we were able to salvage the project. We did, however, move the flowers to a safer place to grow where they wouldn't be bothered.
