We're Heading to the Moon

After lots and lots of hard work, our space cruiser is ready!!

It started as a simple cardboard box that originally housed a microwave. My husband, which I am so grateful for, turned the box into a space ship.
Then, the preschoolers painted it!
Then, we let it dry for several days outside and tried very hard to keep children's hands off of it. They were soooo excited to fly in it.
Then, lastly, we added the seats and all of the decorations, which were cut out and glued on by preschoolers!
Today, it took its first flight! All 10 children in class today got to try it out. They were equipped with helmets and air tanks to help on their journey. They went to the moon, Mercury, Saturn, the Milky Way, and even the zoo! Yes, one group when asked where they wanted to go said they wanted to go to the zoo. Isn't that cute??

The highlight of our first day of space travel was when one boy took off his helmet and air tank while "in flight" and a girl, watching him screamed, "Hey!! You can't do that! You're going to die without those on! Remember what Miss Alishia said." It was great!! I love my preschoolers and their love of learning!
