Launching Rockets

We had so much fun this week, launching rockets during recess. We used this simple rocket that is simply a plastic tube with a few fins and a weighted tip. (No, we didn't make it, we're not that creative, we bought it years ago at a hobby store.)

You can also use an old film canister. We simply put in one alka-seltzer tablet and a little water. You have about 20 seconds to set the rocket down and back up before it launches.

This was such a fun way to end our space unit! Everyone loved it!!
