Fun at the Beach

We can't talk about oceans without talking about beaches. Today we had fun with seashells! First, we made these little pockets titled, "My Ocean Treasures". We had to color, cut, and glue them together.
Then, we cut out these shells from cardstock. There are 6 different shells on each page.
Then, finally, we spread them out all of the grass in the backyard. When we went outside to play, we had to find the 6 different shells to put in our treasure pockets. It was so fun for them to look and sort through the shells to be certain they had all 6. Not quite like the beach, but pretty close for a preschool in the desert.
Also, today was the last day to play in the beach center. We've used this center throughout the ocean unit. It was a BIG hit!! We filled a play pool full of balls and used it to "swim" in. We also spread out towels and sunglasses, so that we could lay out and get a sun tan.
I took the most adorable pictures of your children in the beach center that I will share with you! They had so much fun and are excited now for swim season. It won't be long!
