What is in a Pumpkin?

We had a fun science experiment to go along with our Halloween fun. I asked the preschoolers a simple question. What do you think is inside of a pumpkin?? We brainstormed and this is what they thought might be inside...

Then, as I got out a knife to cut open the pumpkin, they got excited!! They were dying to know what was really inside. So we cut and cut and cut and everybody took a turn. They we looked inside to see the seeds. We all took turns touching the seeds, well, those of us that were brave enough. We talked about what they felt like and why they might be insde. It was lots of fun!!
