Bird Day

Today, we talked about birds and what it would be like to have a bird for a pet. We watched a video of baby robins hatching from an egg and then being fed by their mother. It was a video of a fast motion camera that showed us the time span of several weeks. It was fun to see the preschoolers so completely fascinated by the baby birds eating worms! Eww!!

Then we made these bird feeders for the children to take home. It takes several days and even up to a week for the birds to find the food hidden in the tree. When they find it, however, it will not last long!
Today, we were also lucky enough to have a chicken visit!! It was so fun! Everyone got to pet and hold the chicken and its feathers were sooooo soft!! Thanks for bringing in your pets!
