A Day with our Feet

Today, we learned all about our feet. We jumped, marched, and even galloped during circle time. Then, we read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss.
It was a perfect introduction to our day using our feel. It is also a great way to get preschoolers reading. It is full of repetition, and the pictures go right along with the words. Try it!! You read it a few times, then have your preschooler read it to you. You may be surprised what they can do.

Then, during centers, we made these foot prints.
Obviously, we didn't use our feet to paint and print, the prints are much too tiny. We realized we couldn't do that, everyone's feet are too ticklish for that. So we made prints with our hands instead. We painted the pinky edge of our balled up fist, then used our pinky finger to make toes. The funniest part of this activity was asking how many toes do we need to make?? How many toes do you have? You'd be surprised with many of the answers I got. Ask your child how many toes they have and see what they say.
