Monster Manners

We have had a problem lately with preschoolers who seem to have forgotten their manners. We know you teach manners in your homes and are going to reinforce those good manners in preschool.

We started by reading these fun books about manners to get us started in the right direction. One uses pigs and one uses monsters to show both good and bad manners. They are both funny and well done to keep the attention of little ones. The children laughed and laughed and assured us that they didn't every act like a monster or a pig at preschool or at home. Then, during snack we pointed out how few manners were used. Very few people remembered to say please and thank you, instead, our preschoolers were quite demanding as they asked for food or something more to drink. It was fun for them to see what we talked about during story time, and realize on their own how they needed to change.

So, to reinforce what we'd learned, we made this bulletin board as a reminder to all of us that we shouldn't be monsters!
