Bug Dance

Today, we read the Bug Dance.
It is a cute story about a centipede in school who loves to go to PE. However, one day, his teacher announces they will learn the bug dance. The centipede is not happy about dancing because he is a lousy dancer with all of those feel to try to control. He tries and tries, but keeps falling while the other bugs tease him. Finally, after several attempts, he finally gets it.
All of the other bugs, including his teacher are excited for him!

So, we tried the bug dance, since there were instructions in the book. You step left two times, then step right two times, hop forward once, then hop backwards once, then turn to your right and do it all over again. You move in a square around your spot and end up where you started from after repeating it four times.

It was so much fun! The preschoolers did fantastic at it and loved dancing!! There's nothing cuter than your 3-5 year old children doing the bug dance. Ask them to try it at home and see if they remember. You'll at least get a giggle out of them.
