Caterpillars out of Circles

Today we kicked off our new bug/insect unit! We talked about all of the different kinds of bugs and why they are important. We also talked about how bugs are different than spiders.

During centers we made these fun caterpillars out of circles.
First, the preschoolers colored the circles and cut them out.
Then, they glued them in place on construction paper.
Lastly, they drew antenna and feet on the caterpillars to finish them off.
It was a fun, quick craft that allowed them to work independently, for the most part, and be creative with their caterpillar. It was a perfect introduction to bugs.
