Balloons

Our first unit is "Up, Up, Away". We are talking about things that we see up in the sky. One thing preschoolers are familiar with that is up in the sky is a balloon. Today we watched a short clip from the movie Up. We watched the scene where the house is lifted off of the ground by a whole bunch of balloons. Then, we tried to lift something off of the ground after guessing how many balloons it would take. We lifted a little basket off the ground first with lots of delighted giggles. We also lifted a rubber ducky off the ground. It was so fun to watch the kids, with amazed eyes, watch things float under the balloons. Of course, everyone got to take home a balloon after class which made it all the more fun!!
