Families and Homes

We've switched gears this week and changed our theme. We are now talking about our families and homes. This is a great topic because everyone has something to contribute. We have read some cute stories about different members of our families; parents, babies, sisters, and brothers. It has been fun to ask the children about their families and realize how much they love the people in their family!

We started out just talking about our parents. Your preschoolers really love you guys. We also had a chancd to talk about how to draw people and what was missing on these sillouette people. Students were responsible to draw faces, clothes, and hair. It was fun to watch them do this and feel successful! (It also made for cute pictures.)

Then we moved on to talking about siblings. Again, they had a lot to tell us about their brothers and sisters. They were so sweet as they talked about the fun things they did with their siblings. We made these houses and colored each member of our families to attach to the house. They were a lot of work, but the children were very proud of them when they were finished!!

Next week, we will branch out and talk about Grandmas and Grandpas, and other people in our extended families. It should be a lot of fun!!
