We had a week fun of Valentine fun. We colored the alphabet shaped as hearts. That was fun and easy enough. Many of the kids even sang their ABCs as they colored.
Then later, we used those same hearts, but this time, we only colored the letters in our names. Simple enough. This time, however, we ran into trouble. The students did not recognize the letters in their name because the heart shaped letters were all capital letters. We tried to talk them through it, but they just didn't seem to understand. What a huge over sight on my part. So it took us some helping and a lot of explanation to make these cute name cards.
Next time, we'll be more careful. Also, we were reminded that we still have to work on letter recognition.
