Our New Dinosaur

We cut out a big, green dinosaur and hung it on the wall. Immediately, the children became excited. It stayed there, a boring, green dinosaur for over a week. Then, we read a book called Trouble at the Dinosaur Cafe. It is about some dinosaurs that go to a restaurant to have dinner. Then, a T-Rex comes into the restaurant and decides it wants to eat them for dinner. One of them, calls a friend to come and help them.

So, we talked about our dinosaur and what he needed to stay safe. We added circles to his body to help him blend in around him and maybe hide from other mean dinosaurs. We added triangles to his back so other dinosaur couldn't jump on him. We also added some friends because dinosaurs are safest with other dinosaurs around. Now, our boring, green dinosaur is the talk of the classroom. We refer to him all the time as we talk about dinosaurs and he is fun to have around.
And now he is safe from any hungry T-Rex that is hungry for dinner.
